ABOUT ME

James joined his first football club; St Mirren Youth Boys Club at the age of 6 in 2015 where he played the 5-aside and 7-aside versions of the game against other boys clubs in a non-competitive environment. During this time james learned the fundamentals of the game and developed a good grasp of basic footballing skills. At this young age James showed a natural ability to control the football and spatial awareness.

At age 9 in 2018 James progressed to Thorn Athletic Football Club, which is an organisation with a proven success for football development. Initially playing 7-aside then 9-aside competitive matches James excelled in various outfield positions further developing his individual skills and his game understanding. In 2020 at age 12 James was selected by the Thorn coaching team to advance into the 11-aside game competing in Division 1 of the Paisley, Johnstone and district Youth Football League.

James has developed into an excellent central defensive player. James can also play on the right side of defense or midfield.

In addition to football James is also an excellent rugby player and is regularly selected to play for his school team. James has also represented his school in National mid and long-distance running competitions

James wants to earn the opportunity to combine the development of his football skills and experience with a university education. This combination will set James on the path for his professional career. Receiving a scholarship in the USA will enable James to experience living and learning in a different country and culture.
