ABOUT ME

Blair has been playing football since he could walk and at 4 years old, he joined Buckie Thistle Football Development, in 2011. Blair stayed with Buckie Thistle until he was nine years old, 2016, and attended many football galas and festivals with his team. To progress his football journey Blair moved to Deveronvale Football Club to play regular weekly football that Buckie Thistle could not offer. Whilst at Deveronvale FC his coach instilled a quiet confidence in Blair that he had been lacking and from there his football career really took off.

In July 2016 Blair attended an open trial at Ross County Football Club. As Blair had been playing with boys a year older than himself up until this point, he excelled in his age group and was signed straight away. Although player was with Deveronvale FC for only a short time this spell made an impact on him giving him confidence along, with a couple of local festival trophies.

Once Blair started at Ross County he initially trained and played with a year above team, 2006’s, unfortunately at this time there was no league for the team to play regularly, so they relied on friendlies for game experience. In 2017 Ross County were accepted into Club Academy Scotland’s Project Brave where Blair’s team were in Performance level group.

Blair joined 2007’s Under 11 team and they began to play regular games within their group and with Elite group, including teams like Rangers Football Club and Celtic FC. Blair enjoyed Project Brave football for the next few years travelling across Scotland for games gaining great experience as he went. His, along with everyone else’s, journey was interrupted by COVID. During spells of lockdown and no regular football Blair kept his fitness up at home running and completing daily drills. Once football commenced again, Blair returned fitter than ever to training, he was excelling again. He spent the season 2021 playing for the older Under 16’s, where he took on roles of both centre back and right back. This was a tough season for the team but gave Blair a lot of experience.

Blair is currently enjoying playing for the Under 16 team, where he mainly plays centre back, but right back when needed. He is currently vice captain of his team, and they are having more success this season, with impressive wins in club Academy Scotland cup.

Blair has attended two week long training camps at Rangers Football Club. He was joined by many international footballers, but mostly Canadians. These were great experiences for Blair, where he excelled during the camp and made good friends that he keeps in contact with.  Blair learned a lot from the coaches at RFC, he took a lot from each week, and it gave him confidence in meeting new teammates and players.

Blair is hoping to join a competitive team in the USA and play regularly at a high standard. He hopes to meet like-minded people and teammates that become lifelong friends. Blair wants to become part of a soccer family, to eat sleep and breathe soccer. He is looking forward to being immersed in college football where he can train daily alongside studying. Blair would like to take a bit of the Scottish game to a college team, but also to learn from his American counterparts and coaches.

Alongside soccer games Blair is hoping to enjoy academic learning at college.  Blair is a hard worker and is willing to put maximum effort into his learning.  As well as friends for life through soccer he is hoping to do the same in a class environment. Blair is aiming to experience life in America to the full and be educated whilst doing so.
