ARCHIE TRAYNOR

ABOUT ME

Archie has been playing Pro youth soccer in Scotland since the age of 7, starting with signing for Glasgow Celtic in 2014 until 2018. Through this he played in tournaments across the UK and Europe, a highlight being a trip to The Netherlands.

In 2019 he signed with Ayr United and plays weekly matches at Pro-youth level against teams from across Scotland. He is currently training and competing with players one year older due to his recent prolific growth and skill development.

Playing at Pro-youth level through his entire childhood has not only allowed Archie to develop the practical skills required as a soccer athlete but also a growth mind set and essentially resilience. He is a thoughtful player who reads the game very well and often captains his team.

Archie is a very versatile player. He began playing in a left wing back position and is more than capable playing centre back but over the last 2 years he has been playing various positions across the middle of the pitch. However, Archie has most recently been excelling in the CAM role for Ayr United. It is in this role that Archie will be playing in the coming season. He is left footed but can use both feet to a high standard.

Archie has also excelled through Scottish Schools education system football development and represented at regional level in addition to playing for his high school soccer team Marr College on the West Coast of Scotland.

Archie is mindful of the importance of further education for his future career prospects and also his personal development as a professional soccer player. He sees the opportunity to study and train as an athlete in the US College system as a wonderful, life changing experience where he will get the chance to fulfil his potential intellectually and athletically. 

Whilst Archie has not undergone any formal examinations as such, he is on course to achieve mostly A Grades in the majority of his subjects.

It is ultimately his goal to become a professional soccer player and he sees the US college system, and the facilities it provides, as fantastic opportunity to achieve this ambition.

 He is a well -travelled individual and has always dreamed of the chance to live and work/study abroad, he has visited the US on a number of occasions and has loved the country/climate/culture from his very first visit.
